March 20, 2011
Nuvali, Laguna
On March 20, 2011, I'll be running my first full marathon at the TBR Dream Marathon 2011 in Nuvali, Laguna. Being my first, I want this to be memorable as much as possible. Not only running, but being a HERO through running. So how am I or should I say are we supposed to be a HERO through running?

"HERO stands for Help Educate and Rear Orphans. HERO foundation provides educational stipend support to children of soldiers who are killed-in-action or are permanently incapacitated while in combat duty." (TBR)
"A portion of the proceeds raised from TBR Dream Marathon on March 20, 2011 will be donated to Hero Foundation. Beyond that, we’ve pledged to help by encouraging our TBR Dream Marathoners—and those who read this blog as well—to raise funds for HERO through their runs." (TBR)
So how does this work? As pledged by The Bull Runner, I will pledge a certain amount for every kilometer I run during the Dream Marathon on March 20, 2011. With this, I am also asking your help by pledging a specific amount for every kilometer I run. Example: P10 for every kilometer => P10 x 42km = P420. I leave it up to you to decide on the amount.
After I've recovered from the full marathon, I'll start to collect pledges and donate to HERO foundation. Hope you could help me in this cause and I'll train hard to finish the 42k to maximize the pledges.

"Let us be heroes to our heroes' children"
Yep! Running on this marathon, makes someone a real hero already. I was supported by this foundation since I was in grade school, 'til I graduated college. I hope, there would be more people like you. Have a blessed year ahead of you. ^_^
ReplyDeleteHi, nice to hear from someone who benefited from the foundation. Will inspire more friends to help and become heroes to our heroes' children...
