Cafe Juanita

Late lunch at Cafe Juanita was worth it.  We circled the Kapitolyo for a couple of times looking for this place.  We assumed it was just near the vicinity of the former Astec office in Kapitolyo as Nona said, so that's where we went.  Not knowing it was just at the main road.  We first went to their spot at the corner but they already transferred to another spot just a few meters away.

The 3rd and last leg of the Runrio Trilogy was a success.  Before I talk about what happened during the run, I would like to thank Coach Rio for coming up with this wonderful event.  Also to Unilab for sponsoring this the 2nd time around.. There were some hitches during the registration period but all of these were forgotten when race day came (at least for me).  Knowing Coach Rio, the race was really organized and I had fun running my 1st 15k race.  It was a nice experience and nothing not so good happened along the route. Lots of water stations, marshals, and signages along the route.

TBR Dream Marathon Training: Week 1

Week 1 training is all about walking.  As Coach Jim Lafferty wrote, "we must ask your body, in GRADUAL INCREMENTS, to do more than it has done before, such that in the 48 hours post-exercise the body will undergo changes on a cellular level so that next time you can do it better." I really have to follow this training plan if I want to finish the full marathon.

TBR Dream Marathon Training: Day 1

Week 1, Day 1

Today marks the start of my training for the TBR Dream Marathon on March 20, 2011.  It's a 22 week program designed by Coach Jim Lafferty, a former and present-day Marathon coach.   Retired P&G General Manager, finisher of 23 marathons, coach of multiple US national team members, and TBR Dream Marathon’s race director. Week 1 will start with just brisk walking to ease us into running so I just had a brisk walk for 30 minutes.  Well, it felt good as this is the start of a new milestone in my life.
